Your Version of the Nightingale Pledge is Brilliant
by Julie
Your Nightingale Pledge revision encompasses everything that the original does and does it very well; it removes references to religious beliefs, obliterates the pronoun "he" as physician and to nurses as merely assistants to physicians, which is no longer always true. It also now recognizes the nurses' primary role in the interdisciplinary health care team. I am happy to report that I have referenced your work in a paper on Nursing History and hope that your Nightingale Pledge revision gains the readership and distribution it deserves. Sincerely, Julie G. A future R.N. from the USA
