Mar 30, Current Nursing Shortage

The current nursing shortage is hotly debated and many suggest that there is no shortage at all.

However, when experts look at the trends they continue to predict a shortage of nurses well into the future.

If nursing shortages are to be addressed then real long term solutions must be found not bandaid solutions.

This would mean making sure that working conditions and wages are sufficient enough to attract and retain nurses in the health care system.

The reality is though that despite what the current nursing job situation
might be, a nursing shortage is forcast for the future in Canada. You won't find any of the labor, manpower, or nursing experts saying otherwise. Certainly there has been nothing in the literature that suggests that a nursing education will not prepare you for continued employment in the future in Canada.
